Whether penciled in history books for reasons good, bad, ugly, and/or everything in between, 2020 brought with it some of entertainment’s most memorable moments.
Now, as the year draws to a close, That Grape Juice is reflecting on our favorite moments that rocked – and to some degree maybe even reshaped – the Urban and Pop cultural landscape as we know it.
Next, we’ll look back at Mariah Carey’s mega milestones.
With a career as colossal as Mimi’s, many of her successes have been cemented for years.
Yet, 2020 saw the diva supreme add fresh achievements to her mountainous wins.
Flying into the year at #1 on the Hot 100 will ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ the songbird closed out the year atop of the tally too.
In-between, Carey became a New York Times Bestseller with her much-praised memoir ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey,’ released a compilation of much sought after gems (a collection aptly named the ‘The Rarities’), and was finally inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
There was also an Apple TV+ holiday special, a collaboration with Ariana Grande, a slew of amazing performances, and all-around visibility on 100.
Outside of the year’s shenanigans, 2020 will undoubtedly go down as “the” year the Lambs were FED!

Legendary, what else? She didn’t disapoint me this year, the Rarities album was the perfect present to give to her fans. I mean, who wouldn’t want an album of unreleased songs from their favorite artists? I wish Madonna could do the same, and so many others.
She also gave us a lot of remixes from each era, we’ve been blessed like never 🙏🌹 thank you mimi.
By the way, CAUTION was such a gem 💎 and deserved much more. I think the song of the same name should have been released as a single, I never get tired of it 😍 can’t wait for the next chapter to come 🙌
